What is?

When patients have reached perimenopause or both ovaries have been removed: when they have chromosomal abnormalities, or IVF has repeatedly failed; or even in other circumstances, there is a real possibility of becoming pregnant through egg donation. Recipient women must take medication in order to provide their uterus with the ability for transferred embryos to be implanted, and must keep in touch with our Unit so that they can be contacted as soon as there is a donation.

Oocyte donors undergo the same tests as sperm donors in order to rule out congenital diseases (provided that they have already been detected in the donor), malformations and sexually transmitted diseases. This is undoubtedly the most effective assisted reproduction method.
